Overview

Samples that are sent to Pure Harvest labs can be first created online through Seed Hub. Once created online, you can list the samples you've sent in, and view the results online or by downloading the PDF version of the actual Lab Report. |
Create A Sample
From your Seed Hub account, using the drop down menu, go to Samples -> Create a Sample. Using the form provided, you will need to enter a variety of information about the sample. An image of the form is available to the right.
Submitter Info - This Information is pulled from your Seed Hub Profile, if there is anything that is incorrect you may change it there.
Inventory Lot - The Seed Lots are not restricted by a pick list, and anything can be put in these items. However, it will speed up processing at the lab if Compound names are entered like "Bluegrass, Kentucky" instead of "Kentucky Bluegrass" and "Sweetclover, yellow" instead of "Yellow Sweetclover."
Seed Lab - This pick list id derived from the labs you have added to your Seed Hub account. If you do not see the lab you are submitting this sample to, you can add it to your list from the Admin -> Your Accounts page.
Submitters Sample Number - The Submitter Sample Number is an optional value that can be used to tie the information to your company’s inventory management system. If you have your own internal tracking number you can provide it here for your reference.
Tests Requested - Check off the tests that you are requesting. The options for tests that can be performed may be updated, and you may see more choices offered as check boxes as you use Seed Hub.
Services Requested - You can request that the lab put Rush processing on your sample or that they fax you the results of your sample, in which case you would need to provide a fax number they can reach you at.
Special Requests or Instructions - This space is for any other notes, instructions or requests to the lab, such as an email the lab should send copies too, states for noxious tests, conditional testing or billing instructions, etc.
Once you have completed the form you can either [Save], or [Save and Notify Lab]. The [Save] button allows you to define samples before they are ready to ship, and notify the lab later when its ready. Note: Once you have Notified the lab of the sample, The sample cannot be edited or deleted from the system.
Now that you've saved the sample, three new button are available
- [Delete] - remove the sample from the system, Cannot be done once lab is notified.
- [Print] - creates a label that you can print and attach to the sample, see example.
- [Make a Copy] - this will create an exact copy of the sample, with new lot number.
The information is sent electronically to the Pure Harvest lab. The results will then easily link back to your inventory lot.
List The Samples
The List samples screen displays all samples that have been setup in Seed Hub. It shows the sample and lot numbers, the crop and variety, the seed lab the sample was sent to, the date the lab was notified of the sample(if lab was not notified this column will be blank.) The list can also be filtered on sample and lot numbers, crop and variety, and the seed lab.
There are two links on the right of each row, [Edit] and [Results]. The [edit] link will bring you back to the same create screen, and allow you to view/change information. If you have notified the lab of the sample however, you will not be able to save any changes you may try and make, but you can still copy or print it. The [results] link shows the results of the tests performed on the sample.
In addition to the listing the samples, you can Download the samples you have submitted from Seedhub. The Download is available in two formats HTML and Excel, and can be adjusted to download just the samples submitted last week, or download all the samples submitted in the past 5 years. Note: The further back you look for samples the larger the file, be careful not to go back too far or the file will be very large and may take a while to download
View Sample Results
Once the lab has finished the tests you requested on your sample, the results are available online at Seed Hub. There are multiple ways in Seed Hub that you can view your sample results.
The [results] link described above in the List Samples screen will bring you to the detailed results page, although not every sample may have results when you check them.
You can also List the results of all the samples on which the tests have been completed and the lab reports sent out. you can click on the [Detail] link to get to the detailed results page. In addition to the online view of your detailed results, on most samples there is a PDF copy of the Lab report that was sent to you available from the results page
